Hours

Full-time, permanent — Birmingham office

The role of Assistant Transport Planner:

Work on development planning schemes including transport assessments and travel plans across varied projects such as amusement parks, new schools and heritage sites
Draft Transport Assessments and Statements
Carry out road collision data analysis
Assist with junction capacity analysis using Junctions 10 and LinSig
Support basic highway layout and design (horizontal and vertical alignment)
Work with clients and stakeholders including land-owners, developers, site operators and architects

The ideal Assistant Transport Planner:

6 to 18 months experience in transport planning, ideally within a consultancy
Understanding of Travel Plans and development planning schemes
Experience using TRICS database, AutoCAD and AutoTrack
Understanding of Census Data for travel pattern analysis
Relevant degree or higher qualification with membership of a professional body (MCIHT or similar)
Strong software modelling capabilities on ARCADY, PICADY or LINSIG
Proven project delivery and client management skills
