The role of Estates Caretaker:

Carry out health and safety daily checks on low-rise and high-rise blocks
Cleaning of communal areas, litter picking, and removal of rubbish
Carry out general maintenance and repairs across designated properties
Perform routine inspections of buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs
Respond promptly to urgent property-related issues
Coordinate with external contractors for specialised repair or maintenance tasks
Monitor and manage waste disposal and recycling processes
Maintain accurate records of completed tasks and report issues to management
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

The ideal Estates Caretaker:

Previous experience in property maintenance or a similar role in the public sector
Good reading and writing skills — required for recording and reporting information
Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations for property management
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks
Good communication skills to liaise with management and contractors
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Reliable time-keeping essential
