The role of Deputy Head Teacher:

Supporting the Head Teacher in leading the school
Overseeing teaching and learning across the school
Ensuring high-quality provision for pupils with complex needs including PMLD, SLD and non-verbal learners

The ideal Deputy Head Teacher:

QTS and senior leadership experience within a school setting
Experience working with students with PMLD, SLD and non-verbal needs
Strong leadership and organisational skills
Experience supporting staff development and improving teaching standards
Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
Compassionate, resilient and proactive approach

TeacherActive is working with a specialist SEND school in Brierley Hill supporting children and young people aged 4–19 with PMLD, SLD and non-verbal communication needs.

The school provides a highly supportive and nurturing environment, with a strong focus on individualised learning, communication development and life skills.
