The role of Marketing Manager:

Creating and delivering a marketing plan that supports business growth
Managing day-to-day marketing activity across the business
Writing and posting content, especially on LinkedIn
Keeping the website fresh, relevant and effective
Producing marketing materials including brochures, presentations, case studies and emails
Working closely with the owner and sales team to win new business
Building and refining the brand, messaging and tone of voice
Running campaigns to boost awareness and generate leads
Tracking performance and using data to improve results
Managing freelancers when needed while staying hands-on
Setting up the foundations for a scalable marketing function

The ideal Marketing Manager:

Experience in a broad, hands-on marketing role, ideally where you have had to figure things out yourself
Strong writing skills and confidence creating content
Experience with LinkedIn and website content
Good understanding of digital marketing, branding and lead generation
Commercially aware and able to spot opportunities
Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
Organised, proactive and happy juggling different tasks

B2B marketing experience, familiarity with CRM systems, email tools or CMS platforms, and experience creating sales support materials are all advantageous but not essential.
