They are expanding their plant division and are seeking a talented Senior Hire Desk Controller to join their team in Redditch. Position Overview: As a Hire Desk Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing the hire of construction equipment, ensuring efficient operations, and delivering exceptional service to our clients. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the hire desk, providing leadership to a team of hire desk controllers, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and lead a team of hire desk controllers, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
Oversee the scheduling and allocation of construction equipment to various projects, optimizing resource utilization.
Maintain accurate records of equipment availability, hire rates, and contracts.
Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide exceptional service to clients.
Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics and maintenance, to ensure timely equipment delivery and maintenance.
Monitor and improve processes to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Assist in the development of pricing strategies and rental agreements.
Conduct regular performance reviews of hire desk staff and provide training and development opportunities.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Play a key role in managing and resolving any operational challenges that may arise.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a hire desk controller or similar role within the construction or plant hire industry.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficiency in using hire management software and Microsoft Office applications.
A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
Knowledge of construction equipment and industry regulations is a plus.
A valid driver's license may be required.
